Members Event: In Conversation with Louie Whitemore
Friday 15 August | 2pm25th anniversary talks exclusively for TBTL Members
Inspiring and insightful events for Members to come together, arranged by some of the original Friends of Theatre by the Lake whose support over many years has been instrumental to the creation and continued success of our theatre.
Louie Whitemore, set and costume designer (Handbagged; Tom’s Midnight Garden; Around the World in 80 Days) and Curator of the Productions part of TBTL’s We Are 25 exhibition.
Everything you see on-stage – from the costumes to the props – is curated by a network of freelance creatives who design, build and make the show you see before you: the artists who make the art. Theatre by the Lake Associate Designer, Louie Whitemore, is one such creative force. Born near Ullswater and inspired by her Penrith drama teacher, she started helping backstage with school productions before joining the National Youth Theatre at 15. Now a designer by trade, Keswick resident Louie has designed for theatre, ballet, and opera all over the world but sees Theatre by the Lake as her home theatre. Louie has designed numerous shows for TBTL in recent years, as well as leading community workshops for young people and local artists.
