Diarmaid MacCulloch: Making Sense of Christianity and Sex
Sun 16 March | 2:30pmEmeritus Oxford Professor of the History of the Church, Diarmaid MacCulloch will explore the 3000 – year long encounter between Christian theology and sex, gender and the family. He is joined by Reverend Richard Coles and festival president Priest Marie Elsa Bragg in a lively panel discussion of how our contemporary Church engages with those issues such as homosexuality, sex outside of marriage, female priests, gender realignment and child abuse including the recent resignation of the Archbishop of Canterbury and the divisions of opinion within the Church. The panel will also debate and discuss sex in relation to faith and religion in the past, present and future.
