Music events at Theatre by the Lake this September
First up, the gig-musical Bloody Elle is at Theatre by the Lake for an extremely limited run on Thursday 1 and Friday 2 September.
This smash-hit gig-musical, stripped back to its original gig form in the TBTL Studio, is written and performed by Lauryn Redding, following its WhatsOnStage nomination for Best Regional Theatre Production and a successful run at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Don’t miss this feel-good, funny, stunningly performed show before it’s gone.
Bloody Elle is a one-woman-show set to an original score about an alternative love story. This heart-warming and funny story of falling in love for the first time is stuffed full of those stomach-flipping-time-stopping moments, a touch, a glance, a kiss, that everyone will recognise.
On Tuesday 20 September, folk singer-songwriter Edwina Hayes performs live on the TBTL Studio stage. Edwina’s beautifully written songs, charming stage presence and voice of an angel have won her a reputation as a true natural talent of gentle folk Americana.
She has opened numerous shows for Jools Holland and Van Morrison as well as her own gigs playing stages everywhere from Glastonbury Festival to The Royal Albert Hall. She counts Michael Parkinson and Mike Harding as fans and has had her renditions featured in major Hollywood blockbusters, including her version of Randy Newman’s Feels Like Home which featured in My Sister’s Keeper starring Cameron Diaz.
Join Theatre by the Lake this September for some pure musical entertainment!
