Workshop: Katie Hale: Mining for Stories
Wed 12 March | 10:30am - 1pmHow do we find stories when inspiration doesn’t strike?
It’s a great feeling when inspiration strikes – but where do we look for stories when it doesn’t? Whether it’s our own lives, local uncelebrated stories, or taking inspiration from other art forms, we’ll be looking at where can we dig to excavate those glittering possibilities – and how we might tell those stories once we’ve found them. This workshop will introduce starting points for new stories and ways to develop existing work.
Katie Hale won a Northern Debut Award for her poetry collection, White Ghosts, and is the author of two novels: The Edge of Solitude and My Name is Monster. She is a MacDowell Fellow, and winner of the Gulliver Travel Grant, Palette Poetry Prize, and Northern Writers’ Award – with a love of all things Polar!
